Weather and climate are two different things, yet they are connected. While the weather changes constantly, forecasters tend to focus on short term predictions. Climate is more long term, yet the models are also showing that it is rapidly changing. We have to be prepared for weather events and weather forecasts help us do that. Human intuition helps meteorologists know what to consider when applying the technical principles to weather forecasting.
